Kenneth H. Vogtmann

U.S. Veteran

Ken passed away early Thursday morning May 3, 2012 at McLaren Bay Region in Bay City, age 79 years. He was born the son of the late George and Alfrieda (Krieger) Vogtmann August 31, 1932 in Bay County and had resided in this area all his life. He served with the U.S. Army from 1954-1956, farmed, worked and retired from R.W.C., Inc. in Bay City, was a member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church (Auburn, Beaver Twp.) and loved gardening. On June 20, 1953 he married Phyllis E. Koch, she survives him. Also surviving are 5 children; Terrence (Frances) Vogtmann, Ada, MI., Jeannine (John) Bauer, Portland, MI., Jeffrey Vogtmann, Streetsboro, OH., Wallace (Debra) Vogtmann, Victoria, MN., Russell (Keri) Vogtmann, Temecula, CA., 12 grandchildren; Emily Vogtmann, Nicholas Vogtmann and fiancé Amanda, Alexis (Steven) Proper, Ryan Bauer, Zachary Bauer, Sarah (Michael) McCormick and Emma, Jessica Vogtmann and Taylon, Erik Vogtmann, Matthew Vogtmann, Alexander Vogtmann, Jackson Vogtmann, Anna Vogtmann, brothers and sisters; Marvin (Janet) Vogtmann, Lois Hoerlein, Earl (LouAnn) Vogtmann and dear friend; Lois (Skeeter) Hoerlein. He was also predeceased by Frank Kube, Evangeline Vogtmann and Louis Hoerlein.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday May 8, 2012 at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church (11 Mile & Seidler Rds.) Auburn. Rev. Michael G. Buchhorn will officiate with burial to follow in Zion Cemetery. Ken’s family will receive friends at the Auburn Chapel of the Cunningham-Taylor Funeral Homes, Inc. on Monday from 2:00-8:00 p.m., on Tuesday morning Ken will lie in state at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy, envelopes for C.G.L.T. (Building Fund) at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church (Auburn) will be available at the funeral home.
