Ed passed away Saturday evening June 23, 2012 at Brian’s House (Bay City) with loving family by his side, age 80. He was born the son of the late Stan- ley and Rozalia (Szwed) Kulka March 22, 1932 in Bay City and had resided in this area for 52 years. He was a member of St. Anthony/St. Joseph Parish Community, K of C #3590 (Auburn), Auburn-Williams Fire District, Lions Club, former owner of the Auburn Hotel to name a few and a busy activist and business owner of the Auburn area and sports booster. On November 4, 1977 he married the former Eleanor A. (Stachowski) Talaga, she survives him. Also surviving are sons; Edwin S. (Jeanne) Kulka, Jr., Michael (Denise) Kulka, step- sons; David Talaga, Eugene (Lori) Talaga, daughters; Maureen Kulka, Connie (Casimer) Gross, Sandra (Gregory) Somers, Peggy Tucker, step-daughters; Sharon (C. Michael) Clement, Catherine (Christian) Wool, Susan (David) Talaga-Utt, a brother; Robert (Joann) Kulka, 2 sisters; Genevieve Luptowski, Alice Hus, 31 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was also predeceased by a son; Ricky, a step-son; Tim Talaga and a grandson.
A memorial funeral liturgy will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Wednesday June 27, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church (Auburn). Rev. Fr. Thomas E. Sutton will officiate. In keeping with Ed’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Ed’s family will receive friends at the Auburn Chapel of the Cunningham-Taylor Funeral Homes, Inc. on Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m., and then at the church on Wed- nesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until time of liturgy. A vigil service for Ed will be at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, envelopes for St. Anthony/St. Joseph Parish, Brian’s House (Bay City), Toni & Trish House (Fisherville) and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital will be available at the funeral home.
