Donald Richard Kaczmarek passed away Saturday June 30, 2012 at his home with his loving family by his side, at the age of 78. He was born the son of the late Frank and Josephine (Wojcik) Kaczmarek on March 20, 1934 in Auburn. He resided there his entire life. He was a member of St. Anthony/St. Joseph Parish Community and the K of C #3590 Council of Auburn. Don was employed at the Dow Chemical Company for 32 years and was an avid farmer. On September 1, 1956 he married the former Jean Marie Prill, she survives him. Also surviving are his children, John (Laure) Kaczmarek of Midland, Cathy (Jeff) Sugden of Auburn, Mary (Randy) Harrington of Greenville and Roger (Amy) Kaczmarek of Midland. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, Jessica (Erik) Fielbrandt, Paul (Candice) Kaczmarek, Andrew Kaczmarek, Kaeleen (Tyler) Homrich, Kye Sugden, Corbin, Colt and Chase Harr- ington and Haley and Jordon Kaczmarek. One great grandchild, Morgan Fielbrandt is also surviving along with an expected great grandchild, Isabel Fielbrandt. Don is survived by his brother, Richard (Jean) Kaczmarek, his sister, Mary Ann (John) Jonas, and a brother in-law Bernard Trombley. He was predeceased by his parents and one sister, Dorothy Trombley. Don was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
A memorial funeral liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday July 3, 2012 at St. Anthony Catholic Church (Fisherville). Rev. Fr. Thomas E. Sutton will officiate with mil- itary committal services accorded by the Bay Area Veterans to follow in St. Anthony Cemetery. Don’s family will receive friends at the Auburn Chapel of the Cunningham-Taylor Funeral Homes, Inc. on Monday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. On Tuesday morning Don will lie in state at the church from 9:00 a.m. until time of liturgy. A vigil service for Don will be at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home followed by a bible presentation by member of K of C #3590. In lieu of flowers, envelopes for McLaren Hospice/Brian’s House (Bay City) and St. Anthony/St. Joseph Parish will be available at the funeral home.
