Roy G. Buechler

Roy passed away early Friday morning July 20, 2012 at Plainview Assisted Living in Auburn, age 87 years. He was born the son of the late Lydia (Zink) and Leonard Buechler October 26, 1924 in Beaver Twp. and had resided in this area all his life. Roy along with his wife Betty of 67 years was a successful farmer in Beaver Twp. He and Betty worked side by side in their farming operation. As years passed, their son and grandson joined farming and continue the farming heritage. He also worked and retired from the Dow Corning Service Department after 27 years of service. Roy was a member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church (Beaver Twp.), loved his family and many friends, playing cards and traveling to Florida. On March 10, 1945 he married Betty R. Mieske, she survives him. Also surviving are son; Gary (Phyllis) Buechler, daughter; Judy (Richard) Yuknavech, grandchildren; Troy (Sandra) Buechler, Aron (Chrissy) Buechler, Carla (Daniel) Mose, great-grandchildren; Abby and Ty Buechler, Ethan, Noah and Jade Buechler, Sydney, Ella and Adyson Mose, sisters in-law; Leona Buech- ler, Doris Buechler brother in-law; Robert (Fran) Mieske, many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by brothers; Robert, Herbert , Lee, sisters; Clara Wirsing, Leola Barclay, Edna Kaiser, sister in-law; Diane Buechler, brothers in-law; Ed Wirsing, Harold Barclay and Ted Kaiser.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday July 23, 2012 at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church (11 Mile & Seidler Rds.) Rev. Michael G. Buchhorn will officiate with burial to follow in Zion Cemetery. Roy’s family will receive friends at the Auburn Chapel of the Cunningham-Taylor Funeral Homes, Inc. on Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. On Monday Roy will lie in state at the church from10:00 a.m. until time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy, envelopes for C.G.L.T. (Building Fund) at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church will be available at the funeral home.
