David, Joan Louise Saginaw, Michigan

Our beautiful and beloved Mother put on those wings she’d been building and when the angels came to get her, she was ready to fly Home to Heaven with them. She will always be our Hero and our inspiration. Joan Louise Carlton was born November 11, 1960 and returned to Heaven on August 4, 2012 where she was met by her father Jack, brother John, and our Opa and Oma. Joan went to Swan Valley Schools. She attended Freeland United Methodist Church and worked in the cafeteria at Midland Hospital making many many wonderful friends at both places. Joan always had a big smile and loved to joke and tease. She was always ready to lend a helping hand and worked hard at everything she did. She enjoyed gardening, dancing, crafting, camping and motorcycling, but mostly she enjoyed spending time with her children. Joan’s greatest wish was to see both of her children graduate and start on their own paths in life. God granted her that wish. Left behind to cherish her memory are her children; Adam and Emma, the father of her children; James G. David, her mother; Gladys Berger, brother; Willie and sister; Helen as well as many special friends and relatives.

A life celebration for Joan will be held 4:00 p.m. Tuesday August 7, 2012 at the Freeland United Methodist Church, Freeland. Rev. Lyn Frazier will officiate with cremation to follow. Friends may call at the Cunningham/Taylor Funeral Home, 310 E. Washington St., Freeland on Tuesday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. and then at the church from 3:00 p.m. until time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the family of Joan L. David.
